In-A-Pinch opened in August of 1996. IAP has always been entirely supported by monetary and in-kind donations from individuals, companies and organizations within Maine.
In-A-Pinch has zero overhead. Space and utilities are provided by the Seeds Of Hope. Paper, Ink, Copies of brochures, ect., have been provided by Paquin & Carroll Insurance, Amvets Post 1, The Biddeford Eagles, Brown Fox Printing in Scarborough, and Grants from Bangor Savings Bank and The Narragansett Fund. Every dollar received goes toward the purchase of personal care and cleaning supplies for area families.
Volunteers and Board members stock, organize and assist participants on the nights the pantry is open and encourage neighbors to get acquainted and make connections within the community.
Seeds Of Hope and Second Congregational Churches have joined in our community service resource. Members are making homemade soup. Each time we are open the clients are offered soup, bread, beverages and desserts.
There is absolutely no religious association with this activity.
